Karnataka School Education Recruitment 2026 for 15000 Teacher Posts

The Karnataka School Education Department (Department of Public Instruction), Government of Karnataka, has announced Teacher Recruitment 2026 for 15,000 vacancies in government primary and high schools across the state for the 2026-27 academic session. The recruitment covers five major teaching categories: Graduate Primary Teacher (GPT), Assistant Master (AM), Primary School Teacher (PST), Physical Education Teacher (PET) and Computer Science Teacher (CST). Of the total vacancies, 6,967 are allocated to the Kalyana Karnataka region and 8,033 to the Non-Kalyana Karnataka region. Candidates generally require 12th/PUC, Diploma, Degree or Graduation along with post-specific professional teaching qualifications such as B.Ed, D.Ed and TET wherever prescribed. Applications are being accepted online, and candidates can submit their forms until 7 September 2026.

The 15,000 vacancies are distributed between the Kalyana Karnataka and Non-Kalyana Karnataka regions. Graduate Primary Teacher accounts for 3,228 vacancies in Kalyana Karnataka and 5,272 in Non-Kalyana Karnataka, while Assistant Master has 2,214 and 2,286 vacancies respectively. Primary School Teacher vacancies are divided as 800 and 100, Physical Education Teacher as 425 and 175, and Computer Science Teacher as 300 and 200. Recruitment in the Kalyana Karnataka region is subject to the applicable local-cadre reservation provisions under Article 371J.
